Bioenergy and the Future: public dialogue project

The climate is changing and oil will one day run out. The need to develop new energy technologies has never been greater. Bioenergy is one potential solution, although bioenergy raises its own concerns, as detailed by Professor Simon McQueen-Mason of the University of York at the recent 'Bioenergy and the Future' event held at the Dana Centre, London, 24 Jan 2012. The event was held as part of a Bioenergy Public Dialogue project. This national project will enable science funders such as BBSRC (the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council) to discuss bioenergy with a wider audience so that strategy and policy development in bioenergy will be responsive to public opinion.
